Festive Events Bring Community Together

The holiday season is a time for joy, cheer, and community. In Cameron, Wisconsin, the spirit of the season was on full display during the village’s recent celebration of lights. The festivities kicked off with the Cameron Business Association (CBA) decorating the village Christmas tree on Main Street. The tree, located next to the Main Street Gallery, was adorned with twinkling lights and festive ornaments provided by Brion’s Deli and Main Street Gallery. Buck Ridge Tree Service provided a bucket truck to help with the decorating, and the result was a sight to behold.

The tree lighting ceremony was held on December 1st, and it was a heartwarming event that brought the community together. People of all ages gathered enjoy hot cocoa, and watch the tree come to life with light. The ceremony was followed by a main street holiday decorating contest, which saw local businesses vie for the coveted title of “Best Decorated.”

The competition was fierce, but in the end, Blackmarx was declared the winner. Their decorating theme, inspired by the classic Christmas movie “A Christmas Story,” was a hit with the judges and the crowd alike. The announcement of the winner was made after the Cameron holiday parade on December 9th, which featured all sorts of festive lit floats, and costumed characters.

While the main street buzzed with modern holiday merriment, the nearby Pioneer Village Museum offered a nostalgic contrast with their “Christmas in the Village” event. The museum grounds transformed into a charming scene straight out of yesteryear. Visitors were treated to sleigh rides drawn by gentle horses, heartwarming carols echoing through the village, and the nostalgic aroma of warm cocoa wafting from the saloon. Blacksmiths demonstrated their craft, children wrote letters to Santa in the old-fashioned post office, and families gathered around the crackling bonfire for holiday stories. It was a delightful trip back in time, reminding everyone of the simple joys and traditions that truly make the season special.

The Cameron celebration of lights was a resounding success. It brought the community together and helped to create lasting memories for everyone involved. The events also helped to boost the local economy, as businesses saw an increase in foot traffic during the holiday season.

If you’re looking for a charming and festive place to spend the holidays, I highly recommend Cameron, Wisconsin. The village’s celebration of lights is just one of the many reasons why this small town is a great place to be during the most wonderful time of the year.

Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays!
